Introduction to painting

This six week course provides an introduction to painting. Working with acrylic paint, students will learn the basics including how to set out a palette, mix and apply paint and clean and care for paint brushes. Colour theory will be taught and students will have the opportunity to explore hue, tint, shade and tone in depth. We will explore colour relationships, tone and gesture and create paintings inspired by Giorgio Morandi’s still life paintings.
